The challenge

The enclosure houses a tracker's control electronics outdoors, so it has to seal against dust and monsoon rain and hold its shape in the sun. The prototype was fabricated from sheet and machined parts: fine for field trials, too slow and too costly for volume.

Our approach

  • A DFM review first: uniform walls, draft on every face and ribs in place of the thick bosses, so the part fills evenly and does not sink.
  • A continuous sealing groove designed into the lid, with the parting line kept clear of it.
  • Mold flow to place the gates and balance two cavities, then conformal cooling around the deep side walls.
  • Core and cavity in hardened steel for UV-stabilised, glass-filled material.

The result

The mold ran its first trial with only minor corrections, and the enclosure moved from fabrication to molding. Both cavities produce matched parts, and the lid seals without secondary machining.

Product design

We work with a diverse range of industries, providing tailored solutions for design, prototyping and manufacturing needs.

Our process

Our Roadmap

  1. Consultation & RFQ

Every project starts with a consultation call, so we understand your part, timeline, and budget clearly, upfront.

  2. DFM & Material Selection

We review your design for manufacturability and recommend materials suited to application, cost, and finish.

  3. Mold Design & Flow Analysis

Our engineering team optimizes mold design and material flow to ensure part quality and manufacturability.

  4. Tooling & T0 Sampling

Once tooling is built, we pull first trial samples to check fit, function, and finish before mass production.

  5. Production & Delivery

Once approved, we proceed with production and conduct quality inspections to ensure compliance with agreed specifications.
